2017 Campout #10

Updated: Sep 30, 2021

The hunt for a second MO Camper Award continues with the Perseid Meteor shower!

The Perseid Meteor shower was expected to peak this weekend in the northern hemisphere so it was the perfect time to escape the city lights and catch a dazzling celestial show! Mark Twain Lake State Park was the perfect place! A nice open boat ramp area with a view over the lake to see all across the sky at once! The meteor shower did NOT disappoint!

Hiking, on the other hand, definitely left some feelings of soreness.

Tick larva were very abundant as were the chiggers and they definitely had a feast with me. Fortunately, I healed and avoided Lyme disease. We'll call that a win-win!

Span of 3 days; Approximately 415.2 miles; No fuel economy stats available.
